Meet Dr. Anwi N. Etame

Dr. Anwi N. Etame is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and the founder of Keller Premier Eye Care. She is passionate about providing thorough, compassionate eye care to patients of all ages and believes that good eye care starts with taking the time to listen.

Dr. Etame founded Keller Premier Eye Care with a simple vision: to create the kind of practice where she could care for patients the way she believes they should be cared for-thoroughly, personally, and without making them feel like just another number. She wanted to build a practice where advanced technology and excellent clinical care could exist alongside genuine relationships, patient education, and the time to listen.

She enjoys getting to know her patients and caring for them and their families over the years. She takes a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to each visit and makes it a priority to explain what she sees, answer questions, and make sure patients understand their eye health and treatment options. Her goal is for every patient to feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for - not rushed through an exam.

Her clinical interests include specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and complex prescriptions, myopia management, glaucoma and ocular disease management, and pre- and post-operative surgical co-management. She has a particular passion for myopia management and enjoys working with children and their families to help protect their vision as they grow.

Dr. Etame earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she received honors in clinical care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages with a minor in Spanish from Pacific University in Oregon. Her clinical training included ocular disease, pediatric optometry, binocular vision, specialty contact lenses, and surgical co-management, with externship rotations at the Las Vegas VA Medical Center, Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, Kentucky, and the Vision Enhancement Clinic in Springfield, Missouri.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Tarrant County Optometric Association. Service has also remained an important part of her life. Through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), Dr. Etame has participated in mission work providing eye care to underserved communities in Ethiopia, Cameroon and Belize. She also supports local outreach efforts that help improve access to eye care, including services for individuals with special needs.

With strong multicultural roots and an appreciation for people from many different backgrounds, Dr. Etame strives to create a practice where everyone feels welcome. She believes exceptional eye care is about more than prescriptions, testing, and technology. It is about listening, building trust, educating patients, and caring for the person behind the eyes.

Outside the office, Dr. Etame enjoys traveling, fitness, reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three children. As a family, they love exploring different cultures, trying new foods, and finding new experiences throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond.
